the bio, unabridged
Hallie Haas is an actress & comedian living in Brooklyn, NY. She hails from the idyllic valley town of Northampton, MA and obtained her B.A. in Theatre and Comparative Literature at Oberlin College, where she also spent long hours doing improv in basements and making lentil soup for 80 hungry undergrads at a time! (True and she has the scars to prove it!)
Hallie has performed sketch at UCB with Maude teams Fantasy, A Few Sandwich Lovers, and Monaco, and was a writer/performer on the first two seasons of Characters Welcome. Her one-woman show Masterpiece Classic: Women in Art enjoyed a successful run at UCBT Chelsea through Spring 2017. Hallie also played Kathleen Kelly in the UCB running show Netflix Presents: You’ve Got Mail and will be portraying a great many characters in A Few Sandwich Lovers’ narrative sketch show You Can’t Spell Love Without Cleveland, OH.
Hallie will be featured in the upcoming Comedy Central series Alternatino as well as the feature film Asking For It, and can be seen in TBS’s Search Party, the feature film Fort Tilden (SXSW Grand Jury Prize 2014), as well as videos for The New Yorker, Elite Daily, and The Kicker. A thespian since childhood, she has performed with Cleveland Public Theatre, Williamstown Theatre Festival Workshop, Forever Dog Productions and Story Pirates.
Hallie also sings, plays the piano and baritone ukulele, and can plunk, toot, and bow her way through every instrument in the orchestra (true and she has the scars to prove it!). You can often find her sporting a golden helmet and biking around Brooklyn, looking for a place to hang her hat (helmet) and drink a million dollar juice.
